These wood-turned pens are turned by a craftsman, who likes to make these pens perfectly. The woods are (mostly) Australian native timbers, coated with a sanding sealer, then finished with 5 coats of a gloss plastic finish, to last for many years. Few wood-turners would match this quality of workmanship and finish.
Unique to these pens, is that you can have your name burnt on the pen, before the wood is sealed, never to be 'lost' again. It is also a fantastic idea for a unique gift, or special occasion.
Some of the woods available are Black Bean, Black Heart Sassafras, Blackwood, Cherry Plum, Cork Oak, and Red Gum. The woods usually present a varied and/or colourful grain that is fascinating, however, a 'plain' grain or light coloured pen can also be made.
Pen thicknesses usually range from 9.5mm to 10.5mm. Users may prefer a thicker or heavier pen.
Biro refills for these pens are readily available in black, blue or red.
